IMMORTAL NIGHTBODY

To let Sim Jackson tell it "Immortal Nightbody" is a code-name for an "anti-genre experiment" started during the pandemic after he snapped his ankle getting jumped outside of a liquor store NYE 2019. Born in Greenville, MS, he and his family moved to Southern California when he was four. He has lived everywhere between South Central and Chino Hills but artistically he cut his teeth in the tastefully obscure LA and Long Beach garage punk scenes in the mid-aughts.

His music reflects his variegated creative influences: Post-Punk, Techno, and Shoegaze blended into contemporary rap and hip-hop. His work focuses on lives lived on the margins and the choices our governing systems force people to make.

EXPENSIVE $HIT

When he's not drumming in Thee Oh Sees, Paul Quattrone moonlights as Expensive $shit - a groovy aural assault of samplers and analog drums.

CHORUS PEDAL

“Do as thou will.”

LA’s Chorus Pedal, consisting of seasoned musicians Mike Baum, Alan Connor, and Niko Dangond, is ever in flux, refusing the defines of categorization/genre in favor of wherever their whims take them. Their upcoming record Peace & Quiet, due July 19, bids adieu to guitar band sensibilities in favor of a deeper dive into experimental noise and electronic disarray. It reflects and reacts to the beauty and brutality of the world around them.

SUPER VIOLATE

Super Violate is a genre mashing 4-piece band hailing from Los Angeles, California. The band is made up of Bayo (vocals), Flavio (vocals/guitar), Blair (drums), and Zach (Modular/Synth). Originally forming in 2018 as a trio, the band was able to perform at the legendary Low End Theory in Los Angeles, where legends like Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing, and Tokimonsta cut their teeth throughout their comeups. However, where those Low End Theory stars are known for their jazzy approach to the beat-scene, Super Violate comes in from the opposite end of the musical spectrum. Equal parts Punk, Metal, Hip-Hop, Noise, and West Coast Bass Music, the band has a sound all their own.
